Course Description
This packages contains three courses; Data Management and Visualization, Introduction to Database Systems and Advanced Database Systems. Students will first be introduced to the concept of Information Lifecycle Management and how to manage data from the perspective of protecting information as a strategic asset. The second and third courses cover both the introduction and advanced skillsets needed for SQL/PL database and application development. Microsoft Access, Oracle and Tableau software applications will be used throughout the the three courses.
Students will earn a certificate awarding 45 CPE credits to go towards professional development.

Paul Tallon is Professor of Information Systems at the Sellinger School of Business, Loyola University Maryland. Prof. Tallon qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in 1993 and is currently a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. He studies a variety of topics at the intersection of IT and accounting, notably methods of computing the financial return on IT investments and methods of assessing the value of information.
