Literacy Tutor Training

Course Description

This training is designed to give tutors of K-8th grade students guidance in how to collaborate with teachers and other school professionals as well as provide effective after-school tutoring to students who may be experiencing challenges with literacy.

The training is structured to walk potential tutors through the process of receiving vital learning information about the students they will tutor, planning tutoring sessions, and communicating about student success to encourage student progress in reading and writing.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this training, the learner should be able to:

• Follow the steps in the tutoring process they will be taught
• Create and execute basic lesson plans during the tutoring sessions
• Communicate student success with teachers and parents
